Harbourside artist Musa Motha has wowed millions across the world with his breathtaking performance at the Paralympic Opening Ceremony in Paris.
The South-African born star had the attention of the globe as he performed as part of an ensemble but also with a stunning solo. The ceremony itself was groundbreaking, being held outside an Olympic stadium for the first time ever.
The main event took place at Place de la Concorde, after a grand parade along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées from the Arc de Triomphe. The ceremony was part of Paris’ transition from the Olympics to the Paralympic Games.
An estimated 65,000 spectators attended, with millions watching on television around the world.
Musa’s performance was part of a larger section curated by Swedish director Alexander Ekman, which featured dancers using crutches, wheelchairs and adapted tricycles interacting with pulsating beats.
